My Flower Book (37): colors & textures November 25, 2012

I like the contrast of complementary colors and different textures in a bouquet: purple-yellow, blue-orange, red-green; silky-rough, airy-leafy…The strong contrast makes a bouquet more dynamic.

By composing this classic round bouquet with pink Roses, red Sedum and purple Statice, I added a touch of white Camomile as well as some yellow Roses which has the same color as the heart of Camomile. Suddenly the bouquet becomes less statutary, more dynamic. The green Poppy fruits make the bouquet more playful.

A flower day in Paris April 2, 2012

Paris is a city of flowers. An escapade in Paris can bring you to the most unexpected yet fascinating encounter with flowers.

One of my “flower days” begins at Saint-Honoré, when I first come across a ready-to-wear boutique whose window was decorated with delicate Spring flowers.

Then I succumb to the charms of some Champaign-colored delicious English roses.

When I get home, the branch of peach flowers I brought back from a promenade greet me with the most elegant and delicate posture, bathed in soft light of sunset.

My Flower Book (31): Peony March 6, 2011

Peonies are already available at florists’. Although knowing they are greenhouse cultured, I can’t resist to their charm. further more, the ones I  bought yesterday smelled so good, just like garden ones. And I found Mooseberry (Viburnum) flowers to match them, how resist ?

Moosberry or Cranberry (Viburnum) is one of my favorite foliages. Between a flower and leaves, it has the most perfect pastel color and the most delicate posture to match pastel colored spring flowers.
